Survival park Omishe, Namibia Petra Hekkenberg and Linda Brunott designed and made a playground and survival park in Namibia. This was on a voluntary basis in service of the non governmental organisation Penduka, where Petra did her internship in 2010. There was a timeframe of two months for the two projects. Keywords were local people, local materials, recycle, learn+educate and of course PLAY!

This slideshow shows the survival park that was build in the remote village Omishe, The village can only be reached by 4x4 vehicle and has no electricity. The playground is presented in the previous project.

Omishe combined school The survival park is build for the combined school of Omishe and for children to play there after school. A part of the survival park is placed inside the fence of the school, a part is placed outside the fence. The school will use the playsets for their gym lessons. The schoolchildren are between 4 and 18 years old. The survival park makes use of the excisting trees in the surrounding.
